the Rise, Fall, Repeat series - my first ventures into this medium without any mind to theme beyond depression, anxiety, and a constant attempt at understanding the world around me in the form of prose, poetry, and photography.
These first three issures are more of poetry zines that borders on a perzine. There is no real theme to them or much of a story.
Issue 1: 18 Pages
Issue 2: 30 Pages
Issue 3: 42 Pages
- 5.9 Oz
The third issue is offered in Black and White and Color versions - you can select which you prefer in the options.
Reviews of the entire series:
"Each piece is dated, giving the effect of poignant dairy entries, and the photographs in the back they are set against in many ways follow the format of a scrapbook. The combination of the two weave a unapologetically honest account of the his life through both words and images in a very personal way, pulling the reader in so they can feel the impact of every emotion the writer himself did. His writing- simple, raw emotion from the soul set to paper- presents his scepticism and anger, coupled with a love for those around him that are hurt every day and do not receive their due justice. It this love that drives him to seek to defend himself and those he loves. Lamenting the world’s apathy at the many atrocities that are left unchecked, Fox nevertheless shows he maintains a fighting spirit that inspires others and offers hope."
"Coming across Isidro Fox by chance, I am more than pleased, and in awe of his work. He writes with such passion and emotion, that when readers allow themselves to be filled with his words—one is torn apart. Every fiber of ones being in invested within the pages, ever sentence more relatable than the last. Fox has the ability to spill his guts onto a piece of paper, and make it beautiful. Painfully beautiful. The raw emotion within the poems, exerts, and photography can leave one breathless. Each page tells a story; each page defines the breath you lost. Boundless fury, and abhorrence are evident surrounded tiny glimmers of hope. You want to throw your fist into a wall, but something inside you screams you should go and proclaim love at the top of your lungs. Our generation is one with the power to corrupt and change the world, Fox is a writer with the key to getting people to listen."

Shipping these out of the states simply costs WAYYY too much for me to be able to do it without either going broke very fast or getting angry messages from Etsy buyers.

A: In a perfect world, I'd offer free shipping. However, due to past experiences, I will only ever ship items with tracking information and insurance (in the event of a loss). I understand you may be a great person, but I have tasted the sweet life of being able to point to a tracking number when something is delayed or lost. That's why it's worth more to you to purchase more items than just one, as there is a base starting fee for this service. Around 3 for US orders and ~10-15 for international.
A: As of November 2016, I'm using a durable twill. Like all other forms of fabric, it is prone to fray if improperly sewn and with repeated washes. As is the nature for most punk-style cloth patches.
A: Processing times not only reflect order volume and distance, but also personal circumstances. As stated numerous times through-out the shop, FoxAlive is a solo operation run by ONE PERSON - not a collective - in over his head. Apart from the distro, I also work 48-96 hour weeks at my main job, go to school full-time, and happen to be a human being with dreams and goals beyond making patches and shirts. I try to have stuff out asap, but considering Ialso deal with on/off depression, and wrist problems, I can only dedicate so much time to FoxAlive before my wrist burns out or I start feeling like I only exist to serve capitalism. So the X amount of weeks in processing time isn't meant to keep me lazy as it is to keep Fox, well, alive.
A: 1-2 weeks.
A: Due to the process of how these patches are made, all design sizes are final. If you'd like an altered design to any degree, including a one inch enlargement, you will have to pay for a custom patch.
A: All my patches are made using silk screen printing. There is no "iron-on" backing. Everything is made to be hand sewn.
A: No, it's not. And the reason it costs so much is due to the Etsy/PayPal fees associated with each sale. If I charge any less, I get more orders a week than what I ship out. This may seem great from a business standpoint, but being the only person behind FoxAlive for the past five years, I'm tired of always playing catch up on orders when I'm not being forced to justify shipping times (seriously, imagine getting off your main job just to get home to more work). What I charge now for patches (specifically small patches which are ~80% of my sales) no longer takes into account material alone, but also my own time and energy.
A: Yes, of course! I actually have a couple listings designated for shirts, patches, and buttons with step-by-step instructions on how to place an order. Please be aware, if you commit to an order, you are giving me a 30 dollar non-refundable deposit for my time in designing and/or prepping a screen for your custom order.
